Fin de Semana e Safari Mondays
Buffalo Soldier

I slacked on writing this weekend. But now I can sum it all up!
I went to 2 festas. The one on Friday was a house party like festa at a dorm of some girls I met last week. It was fun, they did alot of the same things we did in America. They were very excited at the fact that I was american and wanted to all talk to me. One of them will be going to FAMU in the fall for the other part of the exchange program and two of them will be going to UWF. I found it interesting when one girl went around collecting a "muta" or something that sounded like that of a couple bucks. This was to pay for the drinks and also to pay the dorm people to be able to have a loud party in the dorm. It was interesting. This wouldnt work as well in the US because there is a higher age limit. There was no worries here about getting a citation for being underage because most people in college are 18 and up. The cops did show up cause it was too loud? or at least I am pretty sure thats why they came. Anyways the party kept goin on, people would come and people would leave. No biggie, but it was pretty fun. Nothing too crazy yet tho. Although here is something for my friends to laugh at, when I drink, my portuguese is better, however me and my 'ADD'-ness make it so that I rarely finish my thoughts and im onto something else before I even finish the first thing im talking about. If you know me you know exactly what I am talking about. We took pictures at the party but I have not yet gotten a hold of them so once I do I will post them. The party was good, and I met a lot of new friends. Win.
Saturday we chilled at the house, I slept in and ate lunch. I was not sure what the night was going to entail. Flavia told me she was not going out and the other student here does not go out much but I wanted to do something. I found out another girl from my house, Piu(I think thats how you spell her name) was going to a party for festa de junina which are alot of parties that are thrown during June for the holidays in June and july. We caught a bus with her and some of her classmates to the party, about 10-15 min down the road. The bus was full of drunk and sober people. But I, sober, ended up next to some drunk people that were not funny but irritating. Alot like the night nole but not as fun. It wasnt the worst group of drunks ever tho so it was alright. Prob woulda been better if I had a few drinks haha. Festas de junina are very country themed so people were dressed in country type of attire and the main dance that people do is Forro(pronounced like foh-ho). Its a simple dance but its fun. The party only sold beer which sucked cause thats the one thing I dont drink. It was ok though because I drank a few and the party was a pretty big size. The forro was fun and interesting. The ppl were good looking and a fun time and thats enough about that haha
Sunday I was chillin in the house in the roof in a hammock lookin over at the city with an ever so gentle breeze and blue skies that surrounded the sun while listening to Bob Marley and belting the words to Buffalo Soldier with my friend Flavia. Good day.
I watched quantum of solace, james bond, and I understood about 5% of it. I was suppose to go to a forro social but it got canceled. This week we only have 2 days of class and then were out until next monday. They have graduation this weekend but the rest of the students have exams next week. I have one...I am not really sure what it on...
I am looking to buy Eat. Pray. Love. in portuguese because I am reading it right now and I could try to read it in both languages.
Today was safari Monday. The name because we saw a kitten, owl and huge bird on the way to school. It was all good till the big bird was flying. Then it was quickly not so kool anymore.
I prob have alot more to say but I have been on and off writing this. Anyways here are a bunch of pictures and what isn't on this post you can see on the side. If your'e reading this thanks for giving me reason to write ![]()
This is the Huge evil mountain that we have to walk up and down everyday. This is only half. More like a third.

Here is a bunch of pictures of my school in no particular order. The pictures don't look as nice as it does in person.

and a picture of me with the main entrance sign.
Heres a sick picture that the other student took of the moon a night or two ago. Its blue in the picture cause she edited it so you could actually see the moon, but i think the blue makes it look even cooler.

the other is another pic she took where you can kinda see how its outlined
